The 2013 National Worker Safety and Health Conference was a huge success, thanks to you!

Happy New Year, everyone! We hope you had a relaxing holiday season and are as geared up as we are for another great year of worker health and safety.

First off, thank you to all of you who helped make the 2013 National Worker Safety and Health Conference such a wonderful event! We had approximately 300 attendees, hailing from COSH groups, labor unions, worker centers, advocacy groups, and academic institutions.

National Worker Safety and Health ConferenceWe covered ground ranging from how to improve temporary workers’ health and safety to how best to support better labor conditions in Bangladesh. (We even raised $1,100 to donate to the efforts in Bangladesh!) We discussed state-based strategy approaches to implement safety reforms, and ideas to kick off the most powerful Workers’ Memorial Week of Action yet. And now we’re ready to go!

Here on the National COSH team, we have been busy compiling photos and videos from the conference, as well as culling feedback from attendees and facilitators. (Still have ideas to share? Email Peter Dooley. Have photos or videos? Send them to Dorry Samuels Levine.)

We are so excited to keep the momentum from the conference going and make some real headway in improving workers’ health and safety in the coming year. We look forward to working with you on these efforts. (Are you interested in joining work groups on specific topics discussed at the conference? Contact Jessica Martinez.)
