WisCOSH, MCLC, WI AFL-CIO and everyday workers of all occupations and communities will gather at Zeidler Union Square in downtown Milwaukee, WI to remember those workers lost to workplace injury and illness in 2008. Just how safe and healthy is our own workplace and that of our loved ones and neighbors? What needs to be done to prevent the next workplace tragedy? Join WisCOSH, the Milwaukee Area Labor Council, guest speakers and many workers. There will be a reading of the names of those workers killed on the job or died due to occupational illnesses in Wisconsin during 2008 as well as those service men and women who've died in combat which will be followed by a period of reflection and remembrance.

There will be a dinner at the American Postal Workers Union [APWU] Hall and all are invited to attend! The APWU Hall is just down the block and around the corner from Zeidler Union Square. There will be a processional from the park to the hall where we will continue the discussion of what workers can and should do next to make thier workplaces safer and healthier. There is a lot of Federal Stimulus money heading to Wisconsin for use in rebulding our infrastructure. When these jobs repairing our roads and bridges begin we need to ensure that the workers are in safe working conditions using well maintained equipment. Check back for updates.

The menu will be a Mexican Burrito Dinner with choice of beef, chicken or bean. Also side dishes and homemade desserts will be served along with drinks. Walk-ins are welcome for the dinner, but to ensure enough food is prepared, and save some money as well, make a dinner reservation and send payment to WisCOSH.
